Role Overview:

Pure Movement is seeking a skilled and motivated Physical Therapist to join our team as an independent contractor. This part-time, on-site position is ideal for someone passionate about working with active adults, athletes, and the fitness-minded population. You’ll provide one-on-one, personalized care with an emphasis on movement quality, performance, and long-term health. In this unique setting, you’ll collaborate closely with personal trainers, coaches, and other rehab professionals to help clients stay healthy, pain-free, and on track toward their personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one physical therapy evaluations and treatment sessions

  • Assess and address movement dysfunctions, orthopedic conditions, and performance limitations

  • Design progressive rehabilitation programs that transition clients back into full activity or sport

  • Communicate with the personal training and coaching team to ensure consistency and continuity of care

  • Educate clients on self-management, injury prevention, and performance strategies

  • Maintain documentation, monitor client progress, and adapt plans as needed

  • Promote a proactive and client-centered approach to rehab and movement health

Qualifications:

  • Master (MPT) or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program (required)

  • Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of Michigan (required)

  • Strong foundation in orthopedic rehab, biomechanics, and functional movement

  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification (required)

Ideal Candidate Will Also Have:

  • Experience in a sports or performance-focused clinic or training environment

  • Interest in working with adult clients aged 40+ who want to stay active, competitive, and injury-free

  • Passion for bridging the gap between rehab and performance

  • Desire to work as part of a collaborative team with personal trainers, athletic trainers, and health coaches

  • Willingness to participate in team meetings, share insights during case discussions, and lead client education events or workshops

  • Creativity in developing rehab and movement programs that serve the needs of the local community

  • Enthusiasm for helping people live pain-free, functional, and fulfilling lives through intentional and individualized care
